On February 18, 2014, Leopoldo Lopez, leader of the Voluntad Popular party, surrenders to Venezuelan authorities. He is accused -without evidence nor witnesses- of being responsible for the violent events following a series of riots in the capital, Caracas on February 12 which resulted in many young people getting killed. He is incarcerated at a preventive jail and one year and half later, on September of 2015, the courts of President Nicolas Maduro’s regime sentence him to a thirteen-year, nine months, seven days and twelve hours of jail, following a trial that lacked of any type of civil guarantees. This is Leopoldo Lopez’s unpublished and clandestine.
